Former Wales star Robbie Savage says Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart could be a liability for England.
Savage wrote in the Mirror: "Hart's blunders for Manchester City against Bayern Munich have exposed a flaw in the Three Lions boss' forward planning.
"As I've said before, Hart's biggest drawback has been a lack of serious competition for club and country, where he has enjoyed almost untouchable status for three years.
"It would have been a huge call for Hodgson to drop him ahead of the double header against Montenegro and Poland next week, and throw in a less experienced player for two games of massive importance.
"Hodgson cannot afford to risk hooking Hart and exposing an understudy's nerves in the same way that Steve McClaren's decision to hand Scott Carson his debut against Croatia in 2007 backfired disastrously.
"But it's a shame he has not given Fraser Forster any game time since calling him into the England squad a year ago.
"Celtic keeper Forster was fantastic against Barcelona in midweek and it must be only a matter of time before he wins a cap."
