Robbie Savage believes Manchester United have let down David Moyes over their lack of summer signings.
Moyes has also had to deal with speculation surrounding the future of Wayne Rooney, who has been the subject of two bids from Chelsea.
"David Moyes is a fantastic manager, but he has been let down by Manchester United," said Savage, who will be a pundit for the BBC this season.
"When Sir Alex (Ferguson) left, they should have had one or two marquee signings lined up to appease the fans. That hasn't happened and there has been a bit of nervousness. The Rooney scenario hasn't gone away either."
