Former Leicester City star Robbie Savage is full of praise for Chelsea defender David Luiz.

Savage has included Luiz in his team of the season and admits the 29-year-old has been a 'revelation'.

Savage told the Mirror: "He makes the cut simply because he has proved so many people wrong, probably including me.

"When Chelsea brought him back to Stamford Bridge from Paris St Germain – for a tidy profit, I might add – everyone thought he was an accident waiting to happen.

"But he has hardly made a mistake. Gary Cahill and Cesar Azpilicueta have been solid, too, but Luiz has been a revelation.

"I tip my hat to him, mainly because I thought it would end in tears, not 10 points clear at the top."
