Saussolo rule out selling Man City target Locatelli in January

Sassuolo are not considering the sale of £30million-rated midfielder Manuel Locatelli.

The Daily Mail first reported that Manchester City were hoping to snare the talent away from the Serie A club this winter.

However, Sassuolo director Giovanni Carnevali says no bid will be considered this month.

Sassuolo are in seventh position in Serie A after 17 games, and only two points away from a European spot.

Carnevali told RAI Sport: "Seeing Sassuolo players in the headlines is a positive thing, as it means our team and players have been doing well to attract attention.

"We have many players who are of interest to many, including Locatelli, but any issue will be only discussed after January.

"When it comes to important players like Locatelli, we won't even take into consideration any proposal that would involve him leaving mid-season."
