Antoine Griezmann turned on his own Atletico Madrid fans at the end of victory over Valencia.

In the 90th minute, Griezmann was able to grab possession inside Atletico's half, but rather than push forward he chose to wait and keep possession. The attacker's actions upset home fans whom urged him forward.

The Frenchman, upon hearing the whistles, turned to the stands and began waving his arms wildly in protest. Tension already exists between Griezmann and Atleti's support over talk of him leaving this summer for Barcelona.

Teammate Saul Niguez remarked afterwards: "I think it was a match thing, people ask for more, but Griezmann read well what had to be done, I think he did well, people want more, but sometimes you have to be smart like he was. Sometimes you have to stop like he did in that play."
