Sassuolo striker Simone Zaza was furious after their 2-2 draw with AS Roma.
Zaza struck a double to put his team 2-0 ahead.
"There is bitterness and rage, because we thought that we'd bring home the result," Zaza told Sky Sport Italia.
"Having said that, we all put in a great performance and Sassuolo were on a par with Roma, one of the best teams in Italy.
"It's wonderful to score against sides like Roma, though I have to learn to net against the smaller clubs too. I am proud of what I am doing and the credit also goes to my teammates."
