Maurizio Sarri blocked Napoli's move for new Juventus signing Mattia Perin, it has been revealed.

The 25-year-old completed his transfer from Genoa to Juve yesterday for €12m plus €3m in performance-related bonuses.

“Napoli had approached us for Perin, but Sarri wanted a goalkeeper who was better with his feet and I didn't expect the Coach to leave," confessed Genoa director general Giorgio Perinetti on Radio CRC.

“Juventus were determined in the negotiations and the lad was very happy to go to Turin."

Perin moves to Juve as a replacement for Gigi Buffon.
