Brazilian midfielder Juninho has revealed that he is delighted to be back playing for MLS champions LA Galaxy.
The 23-year old has returned to Los Angeles from homeland club Sao Paulo for a second loan spell after spending the past two seasons with the Galaxy.
Ahead of Wednesday night's CONCACAF Champions League quarter-final first leg against Toronto FC, Juninho is excited about being back with the side he helped win last season's MLS Cup after it was apparent that he could stay in Sao Paulo.
"There were a lot of players in my position - players who had played in Europe and returned to Sao Paulo and a lot of young, good players, too. I trained hard, hoping for a chance but after five games I made the decision to return and play.""My thoughts were to stay there in Brazil and play for the first team," he told the Galaxy's official website. "But the manager did not know me very well - the president and front office did.
Juninho admits it is a goal of his to play in the first team at Sao Paulo but for now is happy to do what he can to assist LA in being as successful as possible in 2012.
"I have a dream to play in the first team there [with Sao Paulo]. Since I was little and in the academy, it's been a dream of mine to make it there. Unfortunately, it didn't work out that way.
"Here, it went well too, I was able to play and we have a good team. But we'll see how it goes this year. My loan is for only one year, so I hope to play well here this year, but after that who knows.""[The Galaxy] had made me an offer to stay here but it's complicated," he added.
