Kaka will return to his former club for a six-month spell before joining MLS expansion club Orlando City.
"After 60 days of negotiations, we are all agreed, but still need to put the signatures on the contracts," Sao Paulo Vice-President Ataide Gil Guerreiro on Redacao SporTV.
He continued: "He will sign for the MLS, because it is the League that signs the players, then clubs can choose three and Orlando City picked Kaka.
"The player will undergo his medical before moving to Orlando City, who will loan him to Sao Paulo for six months.
"Kaka is very emotional at coming back home and he's in great shape. He comes to Sao Paulo with great motivation."
