Sao Paulo has revealed they made an attempt to secure former Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas as new coach.

AVB, who is in talks with Tottenham, was in Brazil earlier this month on a scouting trip in preparation for his next job.

"Villas-Boas indicated that he was not interested in coming to Sao Paulo right now.

"He wanted more time to plan his next move, but I cannot wait for him," revealed Sao Paulo sporting director, Adalberto Baptista.
