Sao Paulo chief Marco Aurelio Cunha has confirmed interest in Inter Milan striker Diego Forlan.

Forlan is wanted by Brazilian rivals Atletico Mineiro.

"I heard that Atletico Mineiro are interested in Forlan, but it seems unlikely to me that he would go there, as they haven't won in a long time and are not going through a good run.

"I also personally know Forlan's father and am aware Diego would prefer to play in a big city like Sao Paulo or Rio de Janeiro. Of course, the doors of Sao Paulo are always open for him."
