Santos say Robinho must make a sacrifice to get his move from AC Milan.
Robinho has made it clear he wants a return to Brazil ahead of the 2014 World Cup and is wanted by Santos, Flamengo, Fluminense and reportedly now also Atletico Mineiro.
"The transfer fee and wage demands are really very high," Santos President Muricy Ramalho told Globoesporte.
"Robinho wants to return and that helps us a little. Considering this desire exists, we hold on to our optimism. Negotiations have not collapsed completely, but they are very complicated.
"If he wants to join Santos, he has to give something up."
