Santos star Robinho has spoken of his past move from Real Madrid to Manchester City.

Robinho left Real in 2008 for City in a €42.5 million deal.

"I can still remember that there were great expectations," Robinho told City's website. "I only knew myself that I was going to play in England, but I did not know which team. I was very happy when I found out that I got the chance to play for Manchester City.

"It was at the last moment.

"It was a team that opened doors for me, it was a big transfer at that time, City did not have many great players in their team, but it is a club that I love and I respect."
