A Leroy Sane brace was enough for Manchester City as they defeated West Bromwich Albion 2-1 in the third round of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night.
The German opened the scoring after just three minutes, before Claudio Yacob equalised for the Baggies on the 72nd minute mark.
Pep Guardiola's men were soon back in front through Sane, with the 21-year-old sending a ruthless strike past Ben Foster.
The victory for City was slightly tainted by yet another injury to Ilkay Gundogan, who limped off after 58 minutes following a heavy collision with Yacob.
