Sacked coach Quique Sanchez Flores insisted yesterday he held no grudges against Valencia fans over the pressure they heaped on his team this season at the Mestalla.
With Valencia lying fourth on the table, Flores was dismissed on Monday morning, with his team's home performances - and the reaction of the Mestalla crowd - being blamed for his dismissal.
"From the players, I want professionalism, honesty, strength and to support each other and their new coach so that they can make the most of this opportunity to make history for this club.
"And I also want to say that I am happy with the media for not having ever shown preferential treatment to anyone and always showing the same respect to everyone."
He added: "I am leaving with the belief that we would have achieved our goals this season, but I accept the decision of the Valencia board. I leave with my head held high and wish all the best to the club in the future.
"I've lost my job, but rediscovered my life. It's been quite lonely these last two years."
