San Lorenzo chairman Matias Lammens says the club will need an answer on Fabricio Coloccini within a week.
The Newcastle United captain is believed to be unsettled due to personal reasons and could be on his way out at Sports Direct Arena with the Argentine outfit ready to swoop.
"Time is running out for the signing," Lammens told ESPN Radio Rivadavia.
"When you go for a class A defender, the timings are a bit different, but if in the next week we don't have a response then we will have to go for another option."
