Frank Yallop has been named the 2012 MLS Coach of the Year for his work done with San Jose Earthquakes this season.
The 48-year old Englishman led the Quakes to the MLS Supporters' Shield with a first-placed finish in both the Western Conference and the entire league, three points clear of Eastern conference winners Sporting Kansas City.
Under Yallop, San Jose led the league in goals scored in the regular season with 72 - 13 clear of LA Galaxy on 59 - won the most amount of games with 19 and had the best goal difference with 29.
Despite finishing at the summit of the table, Yallop and his Quakes fell 3-2 on aggregate to the Galaxy in the Conference semi-finals.
