The striker struck both goals in the 2-0 win over DC United to help the Quakes into the play-offs for the first time since the club was reinstated in 2008.
The double allowed Wondolowski to go outright second on the MLS Golden Boot list, just two behind LA Galaxy's Edson Buddle, and has reaffirmed his status as the league's most improved player according to Quakes coach Frank Yallop.
"I said it before and I'll say it again, there are some good players in the league, but to go from where Wondolowski has come to be where he is now is outstanding. Hopefully he'll be in there [for MVP discussion] - I know that I'd vote for him," Yallop said.
