San Jose Earthquakes' Wondolowski has Golden Boot in his sights

San Jose Earthquakes forward Chris Wondolowski scored his 18th goal of the MLS season on Saturday to put him in the outright lead for the Golden Boot award.

The league's most improved player netted the Quakes' only goal in their 4-1 final day loss to Kansas City Wizards to move one clear of LA Galaxy's Edson Buddle who is currently playing against FC Dallas.

After the match, Wondolowski said he wasn't all that confident ahead of the Galaxy game where Buddle was a chance to at least join him on 18 goals.

"I'm not too confident," Wondolowski told MLSsoccer.com. "If I was a betting man, I'd put Buddle on at least two tomorrow, and one gets me anyways (on tie breaker)."
