San Jose Earthquakes have acquired midfielder Sam Cronin from Toronto FC.

The 23-year old will join the Quakes on a deal that will see Toronto receive allocation money after falling out with head coach Preki.

Cronin was selected with the second overall pick in the 2009 MLS SuprDraft by Toronto and started 26 of 30 games in his debut season as well as being picked for the USA national team for the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

The deal is expected to be announced soon when the league approves it.
