San Jose Earthquakes have signed former United Soccer League star Joey Gjersten.
The ex-Vancouver Whitecaps midfielder joins the MLS club from the Montreal Impact and the 27-year old is expected to fit right into the squad according to Quakes general manager John Doyle.
"He's very good at scoring goals with either foot," Doyle said Thursday. "He can play fast and wide."
There is a spot for Gjersten on the right of midfield after Shea Salinas was taken in the expansion draft by incoming franchise Philadelphia Union.
