San Jose Earthquakes have announced the signing of goalkeeper Billy Knutsen.

The Quakes selected the 21-year old with pick number 74 at the 2014 MLS SuperDraft and have now secured him to a contract.

Knutsen arrived at San Jose after spending the 2012 and 2013 season at America University where he managed to produce 13 shutouts from 37 starts.

The San Francisco native will become San Jose's number three keeper behind Jon Busch and Bryan Meredith while David Bingham is on loan at San Antonio Scorpions.
