San Jose Earthquakes have officially acquired midfielder Sam Cronin from Toronto FC.
The 23-year old will join the Quakes in exchange for allocation money which will go to Toronto and the San Jose club were delighted they had secured his services.
"Sam is a good, young player who had big impact in the league as a rookie last year," said Earthquakes General Manager of Soccer Operations John Doyle. "He is a two-way midfielder that should fit in nicely with our team here."
Cronin was selected by Toronto with the second overall pick at the 2009 MLS Super Draft and made 33 appearances in two seasons with the club.
