San Jose Earthquakes GM John Doyle wants serious changes

San Jose Earthquakes general manager John Doyle is aware that his team may need to make some changes.

Speaking after his team's 4-1 defeat to New York Doyle said, "This last game in New York -- for me, the staff, the players -- it was embarrassing.

"We were playing New York, who was also struggling, but we let them get away at home so easy. That was where myself and Frank [Yallop] said 'Things have to change.'

"All the positive encouragement, now we have to put a little bit more pressure on the guys, because we've given them every opportunity to succeed.

"We didn't want to change things around at all," Doyle continued.

"We thought we had done all the work at the start of the season, with the exception of one or two players. But we have some work to do that's for sure. We're very disappointed with the way things are going."
