San Jose Earthquakes extends stay of Corrales, brings in Fucito

San Jose Earthquakes have confirmed that they have re-signed veteran defender Ramiro Corrales.

The 35-year old initially joined the Quakes in 2001 before departing for Norway's HamKam in 2004 prior to his San Jose return in 2008 and will now stay on for at least the 2013 MLS campaign.

"Ramiro has proven over the years that he's an excellent player in our league and on our team. We're excited to have him for this season and beyond," said Earthquakes head coach Frank Yallop.

In addition to Corrales' re-signing, the Quakes have also completed the signing of forward Mike Fucito who was acquired from Portland Timbers last month.

"Mike's the type of player that we like," Yallop said. "He's hard working, aggressive and I always liked him from his days in Seattle. To see him on our team is great."
