Brazilian forward Pablo Campos has signed with the San Jose Earthquakes. Campos had signed a multi-year contract with MLS and was assigned to the Quakes via the lottery. Per league and team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. Campos holds a green card and will not count as an international on the Quakes roster.
Campos, 25, most recently played in the Swedish Allsvenskan (premier league in Sweden) with GAIS Göteborg. He played in eight matches with GAIS in 2008. He made the jump to Sweden from the Fresno Fuego in the USL's Premier Development League in the summer of last year.
Meanwhile, San Jose have also signed Davide Somma to a senior roster contract.
Somma, 23, spent the last two months of 2008 with the Earthquakes as a developmental player.
