MLS club San Jose Earthquakes have secured the services of goalkeeper David Bingham in a weighted lottery.
The University of California gloveman opted to forgo the MLS SuperDraft which was held earlier this month and has now been taken by the Quakes under a Generation adidas contract.
Bingham was a 2010 NSCAA All-American as a junior and was on trial with Fulham FC in England when he received his Generation adidas offer.
"We are delighted to acquire David," said General Manager of Soccer Operations John Doyle. "Had he been in the SuperDraft, he without question would have been one of the first players selected. This is a very good day for the San Jose Earthquakes."
