Sampdoria have sounded out Real Madrid about a deal for Roberto Soldado during negotiations for Antonio Cassano this week.

Last night, Samp chief Beppe Marotta claimed talks over a permanent deal for Cassano were "99 per cent" concluded and Tuttosport says he also asked to take prolific Spanish forward Soldado on-loan for next season.

Meanwhile, Samp have made contact with the agent of Celtic midfielder Massimo Donati about a return to Italy this summer.
