Sampdoria striker Massimo Maccarone admits they risk going down.

Maccarone only moved to Samp in January.

"Undoubtedly we are struggling, but I think our difficulties come from an unlucky campaign and we can finish it off without too many worries," he told Corriere Mercantile newspaper.

"Football is made up of incidents. Against Bologna we scored three goals in a heartbeat, while in other games the ball would never cross the line.

"We cannot doubt there are problems, but we mustn't get downhearted. In situations like this, it is key to rediscover your self-belief. I have always scored goals in my career and I'm confident I'll contribute at Sampdoria too."
