Sampdoria striker Gabbiadini: I'd have stayed with Southampton if...

Sampdoria striker Manolo Gabbiadini says he would've stayed with Southampton if not for new manager Ralph Hasenhuttl.

Gabbiadini was sold by Saints to Samp earlier this week.

He told Il Secolo XIX: "We are Italians, our home is Italy, I found myself well in England and if something had not happened with the new coach I would have stayed for all of the five years (of my contract).

"But football up there is different, more individual, made up of many one-on-one fights while we are used to a more connected game.

"There are pros and cons, also it depends on being lucky."
