Sampdoria supremo Riccardo Garrone says they're happy to have helped Angelo Palombo get his move to Inter Milan.

The Doria captain signed for the Nerazzurri this week after initially opting to stay with the port club following their relegation last season.

"With great appreciation, affection and kindness, I hope Palombo does well at Inter as he deserves it," said Garrone.

"The right moment had arrived for him to find an important team. I think that he has achieved his objective."
