Sampdoria president Riccardo Garrone has jumped to the defence of Antonio Cassano after his amazing emotional outburst upon receiving a yellow card last weekend.

Cassano was distraught after receiving the booking as it suspends him for Samp's game against former club Roma.

Garrone said "Cassano? He's emotional just like me ..."

"Even I, at 72 years old, sometimes react like that in front of those who I consider have wronged me. Antonio did not deserve the yellow, not by chance all have condemned the behaviour of the fourth man with low votes for the refereeing in the newspapers."
