Sampdoria president Riccardo Garrone admits he may sell Antonio Cassano in January.
Cassano has repeatedly apologised for his foul-mouthed tirade, which came after Garrone asked him to attend an awards ceremony.
Speaking outside a meeting of the Lega Serie A, Garrone said: "It was a personal and profound disappointment with Cassano.
"He was rude. All his teammates heard him. But I believe that [when he apologises] he does so in good faith because in temper tantrums it happens that you say things you don't think and above all you don't remember the things that are said.
"The substance of the question at hand doesn't change, though."
When asked if he is considering selling Cassano, Garrone replied: "I don't know if we will sell Cassano or not. It depends on the response from the arbitration board.
"It was my personal decision."
