Sampdoria midfielder Dennis Praet is on Arsenal's shopping list.

Italian transfer expert Gianluca di Marzio is reporting new Arsenal manager Emery's first target is Roma midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini.

Its thought the Gunners are hopeful of using Emery's relationship with Roma sporting director Monchi (both formerly of Sevilla) to figure out the deal.

Pellegrini, who scored three goals in 37 appearances last season, has a £26million release clause in his contract.

Arsenal have also held 'concrete' talks with the agent of Sampdoria star Praet.

Praet, 24, has a fairly modest £22m release clause in his contract but reports in Italy are saying that Juventus have already secured an agreement.
