Sampdoria chief Carlo Osti has told Arsenal there's only one way they can sign Lucas Torreira.

The Uruguay international, who has started following Arsenal on Instagram, is a top target for the Gunners this week.

Sampdoria have secured the signature of Lokomotiv Zagreb's midfielder Lovro Majer as Torreira's replacement, meaning the 22-year-old is now free to leave this summer.

But Osti sent a message to prospective bidders on Sunday, ensuring they realise Torreira has a release clause in place.

“Torreira has a €25m (£22m) release clause, everyone knows that," he told Rai Sport.

"Anyone who wants him will have to pay that."

It's been revealed Arsenal are looking to avoid paying the fee up front.

The Gunners are willing to pay €30m (£26m) in order to split the transfer sum into instalments over a period of years.
