Sampdoria have signed Tottenham midfielder Reto Ziegler on a permanent deal after he impressed on loan in Serie A last season.

The Switzerland international, 21, spent the second half of last season on with the Genoa club and was happy to make the switch full-time.

"I feel good at Sampdoria," he said.

"This is the right club for me to improve as a player."

Ziegler joined Tottenham in August 2004 from Swiss side Grasshopper, but started just 12 league games for Spurs.
