Sampdoria dumped out of Coppa by Juve Stabia

Sampdoria have been dumped out of the Coppa Italia by little Juve Stabia.

Ex-Juventus winger Marcelo Estigarribia made his debut for Sampdoria as they drew 1-1 with Juve Stabia before being eliminated on penalties.

"We played a good game against an organised and aggressive side," said Samp coach Ciro Ferrara.

"We did well, even if we weren't that effective in front of goal. We can't do anything other than accept the result and look ahead.

"I didn't see any steps back compared to our friendly against Schalke 04. It hurts to be eliminated, but the performance was not negative.

"I have my own idea of football and I will try to push it forward, even though I realise it will take patience and courage."
