Sampdoria defender Andrea Costa has shrugged off criticism of the insults he threw at Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi yesterday.
Icardi scored twice in the 4-0 win for Inter, taunting the crowd during his goal celebrations.
Costa was on the bench, but had to be held back from going towards Icardi and was booked for his furious protests.
"I apologise to everyone for that ugly scene I am seeing now in some video footage," wrote Costa on Twitter.
"At that moment the cameras were the last things on my mind. Besides, there are far worse things than those words.
"In any case, I apologise."
The situation was extremely tense, as Icardi is engaged to Wanda Nara, the ex-wife of his ex-friend and ex-teammate Maxi Lopez.
