Sampdoria coach Vincenzo Montella hailed goalscorer Antonio Cassano after their rout of Hellas Verona.
Samp thumped Verona 3-0 yesterday.
"We gave consistency to last Sunday's win over Frosinone," Montella told Sky Sport Italia.
“Verona were in good shape, but we started on the right foot and were practical. We deserved the win, though obviously there's still a lot of work to do and we can't relax now.
“We're on the right track. Lately we have been more solid and this game was very important. I don't know how many points will be enough for safety."
Cassano got a rare start and scored a goal at the Bentegodi.
“He put himself about on the pitch, he had fun and entertained us too."
