Sampdoria coach Walter Mazzarri is expecting on-loan Real Madrid striker Antonio Cassano to explode in the second-half of the season.

"Last Saturday he showed his real self with an important performance," declared Mazzarri. "If the side can help him out, he can do the same against Udinese and show why I signed him, but one performance isn't enough on its own.

"Often, when a player returns from injury, he does great things and then goes off the boil.

"I just want to see him do what he has always done here and train consistently and live a healthy life.

"If he does that, I can say for sure that this season will be the best of his career."
