Sampdoria coach Ciro Ferrara refused to condemn goalkeeper Sergio Romero after defeat to Chievo Verona.
Enzo Maresca had equalised with a wonderful free kick, but in the final minutes Chievo secured a 2-1 win when goalkeeper Sergio Romero fumbled a David Di Michele snapshot.
“Romero’s mistake can happen. In other occasions he was decisive for us, so he got it wrong today and we mustn’t blame him.”
