Sampdoria chief Beppe Marotta has again declared their intention to sign permanently on-loan Real Madrid striker Antonio Cassano.

Marotta said: "We have spoken to Real Madrid and we have reaffirmed our intention and our readiness to buy Cassano. We have our shareholders and the president Riccardo Garrone will examine every possibility.

"Certainly there is the will to pursue the matter and to keep Cassano with us."
