Sampdoria chief Beppe Marotta has confirmed they're planning talks with Real Madrid over striker Antonio Cassano.

"We are satisfied with his form in the Blucerchiato and he has the desire to play with us next season," said Marotta. "Lately, Antonio has said the same: in a couple of weeks we'll meet in Madrid and discuss what to do.

"The player is going through a great moment, as far as the national team it is obvious that Roberto Donadoni must make his choices, but once the player is able to give continuity to his performance, perhaps he'll be able to find himself back in the Azzurri."
