Sampdoria chief Beppe Marotta has confirmed their interest in Inter Milan attacker Victor Obinna.

Marotta said of the Nigeria international: "He is certainly an interesting player.

"But in general, Inter offered more important solutions in the summer, but for various reasons, negotiations did not move forward."

It's understood Marotta was referring to failed deals for Inter pair Hernan Crespo and Luis Jimenez.
