Sampdoria sports chief Beppe Marotta is delighted with the way their "gamble" over Antonio Cassano has paid off.

Cassano has experienced an up-and-down campaign this season, but Marotta is adamant he has been a Samp success story.

"Cassano was a gamble and as it stands now we can say without shadow of doubt that it was a winning one," he said.
