Sampdoria would welcome back Inter Milan striker Antonio Cassano - once he retires.

Doria Vice-President Edoardo Garrone believes that Cassano could be of more use once he hangs up his boots.

“A return to Sampdoria is possible for Cassano, but not as a player,” Garrone said.

“Cassano has an incredible gift and that is that he sees football like few other people in the world. He has a great ability of understanding whether a player is good or not at whatever age.

“Perhaps in the future, once Cassano retires, he could collaborate with us in trying to find new footballing talents.”
