Sampdoria vice-president Edoardo Garrone says they're pleased with the impact of new coach Ciro Ferrara.

Garrone spoke of his satisfaction with Ferrara ahead of the season opener against AC Milan on Sunday.

"Ferrara is doing a great job and is getting the best out of a group that already grew together and managed to get promotion to Serie A.

"He is working well with each of them, and we saw in yesterday's 1-0 win over Barcelona that all the players have adapted to the Coach's system."
