Sampdoria coach Walter Zenga took on his fans after they were thrashed by Vojvodina in their Europa League qualifier.
Vojvodina thumped Samp 4-0 tonight.
Zenga said: "When a team wins, you go to celebrate with the fans. When you lose, you have to go and apologise. In my view, the Coach has to stand in front of his players. If we had won, I would've left the celebrations to them.
“I am not someone who looks for excuses. I came here on July 1 and tried certain things, then I had to put together the line-up today with some players who picked up a virus.
“These are not excuses, because in any case we still sent out 11 players and seven on the bench. There are no excuses. A team that loses 4-0 simply has to analyse the fact three goals were conceded in the opening 10 minutes of each half."
