Sampdoria president Riccardo Garrone is delighted that sports director Beppe Marotta has turned down an approach from Juventus.

"Marotta has Blucerchiati blood. I spoke to him and he told me he has no intention of leaving Sampdoria," said Garrone.

"He will stay with us, 2000 per cent. Clearly in these years he has done very well and the ambitious clubs have thought of him."
