Sampdoria have declared they've signed Palermo striker Massimo Maccarone.
The former Middlesbrough forward was confirmed as a Samp player last night, despite his agent claiming an agreement with Fiorentina.
Maccarone will wear the No 32 shirt at Doria and becomes the club's second attacking addition in January after the loan capture of Federico Macheda from Manchester United.
Given that Giampaolo Pazzini and Nicola Pozzi are both injured at the moment, the 31-year-old looks likely to make his Serie A debut at the weekend against Napoli.
